These days, a lot of Guru’s talk and instruct about meditation, but not many are successful at it. For the duration of the camp, the majority of seekers experience joy and peace; but, after a few days, this joy and peace disappears. The Reason for this is that Meditation and Samadhi are the ultimate results. The initial words meaning Ladder, Pratham, Yama, Niyama Etc. Have Been Taken Very Seriously, In Which Non-Violence, Renunciation of lies, Acharya, celibacy and Aparigraha Have Been Mentioned As Yamas.

Therefore, If Any Person Is In Search Of His Happiness, Then He Has To Follow Yam Vrat And Mahavrat, Which Should Come Into Your Daily Routine Of 24 Hours And This Is The Daily Routine Which We Will Try To Understand In Brief:

  •  If We See Chariya During The Day Then The Aim Of A Jain Monk Is Spiritual Practice, Hence Sleep Is A Hindrance In It. The Body Of A Jain Monk Remains In Sleep State Only For 6 Hours. That Too Is 6 Hours Maximum Time. Gradually, As The Practice Increases, Sleep Automatically Decreases. That's Why Jain Monks Sleep At Midnight And Wake Up During Brahmamahurta. Brahmamuhrita Means The Time 2-3 Hours Before Sunrise.

  •  Usually, After Waking Up In Brahmamuhrita, A Jain Monk Performs Self-Examination. Which Has To Prepare The Mind For Appropriate Action. With The Study Of Breath, The Sage's Mind Begins To Become Peaceful.

  • After This, The Jain Sages Worship The 24th Trithankar God, Recite The Navkar Maha Mantra And Pay Obeisance To The Gurudev. After Saluting The Lord And Guru, They Start Chanting Mantras Or Meditating. If A Jain Monk Has Not Attended The Class For Chanting Mantras And Meditation, Then He Silently Studies The Scriptures Etc.

  •  The Sages Who Are In Bhakti Yoga, Travel To All The Jain Pilgrimage Sites And Become Absorbed In The Devotion Of The Lord. Nutan Muni Memorizes The Verses/Verses Of The Scriptures Because He Concentrates His Mind And Becomes Capable Of Going To The Next Class.

  • Summary: The rituals before sunrise depend on each Jain monk's aptitude, initiation skills and interest. The life of some sages, small or big, remains devoted to the service of the Lord, and accordingly the process of renunciation of sleep begins. But a few hours before sunrise, all the sages are present at one place. Then everyone sits in a circle and does pratikraman. In which one makes atonement for one's sins, whether big or small, in front of the Guru.

  • Different Postures And Asanas Are Used In This Pratikraman. Every Asana And Mudra Has Its Own Special Significance. By Doing It With Full Devotion And Devotion, The Soul Becomes Pure And One Gets Freedom From Defects. All The Sages And Saints Have To Compulsorily Do This Pratikraman Twice, So That Even While Living In The World, Their Soul Remains Away From Worldly Activities And Inner Purity Is Maintained.

  • After Pratikamana, Jain Monks Perform Pratilikhan Or Padilehan Ritual. In This Process, The Sadhu Has To Inspect All The Objects Which He Has To Use Throughout The Day, Which Is Called Equipment, With The Help Of His Vision To See Whether Any Living Being Is Present In Those Objects Or Not.

  • If It Is There, Then It Has To Be Used Very Delicately By Placing It At The Appropriate Place, Be It Clothes, Utensils, Bed Linen Etc., Inspecting It From Both The Sides Is The Same Process Of Transcription, In Which The Objects Are Seen From Outside Through Sight. The Soul Is Examined And To Observe The Soul From Within, One Has To Contemplate On Certain Sutras.

  •  After The Transcription, Jain Monks Perform The Ritual Of Khaja, In Which The Land Or Place Which They Want To Use Or Want To Use Is Cleaned Through Dandasana, That Is, This Dandasana Works Like A Broom, But There Is A Lot Of Difference Because After Cleaning The Place, It Even While Coming And Going, One Has To Inspect The Small Living Beings Who Unknowingly Die Under The Feet And Make Atonement For Each Living Being, Which Is Given By Guru Maharaj. This Is The Prescribed Qaza.

  •  After This, According To The Guru Tradition, All The Sadhus Sajjhay Means The Process Of Taking Permission From Guru Maharaj To Do Swadhyay, Which Is Called Sajjhay. In This Process, The Disciples Approach Gurudev In Triumph And Offer Obeisance To Him And Ask For Permission To Meditate Etc. Gurumaharaj Blesses The Disciples And Gives Permission.

  • The center of a Jain monk or Jain practice is the soul and diet is a hindrance in reaching this centre. Due to which Gurudev, after seeing the ability and worthiness of the disciple, makes the disciples give up their diet and makes them resolve to eat three times or twice or once a day or even gives them the rule of fasting. It is called Pratyakhyaan or Pachakan which is also called penance.Through this penance the sage gains control over the essence of taste. Because it is said that one who controls his diet, his mind is also controlled.

  •  After Following The Rule Of Penance In Pachakan, The Disciples Go To Their Own Place And Engage In Self- Study, Chanting, Meditation And Memorizing The Sutras. Here, Jain Monks Perform The Ritual Approximately For The First 3 Hours From Sunrise.

  •  After This, The Alms Bowl And Water Container Are Again Worshiped. And During This Period, The Arihants Who Worship God By Going To The Temple Of God, It Is Called Dev Vandan Or Chaitya Vandan Or It Is Called Kriya. In The Temple, Gurudev Again Performs Penance In The Presence Of God. In This Way, Jain Monks Complete The Ritual Of Worshiping The Lord With Great Devotion.

  • 10. After Coming Back From The Temple To One's Place Of Residence, One Spends About Three Hours (1 Hour) Pondering Over The Meaning Of The Sutras Of The Scriptures Or One Reads The Teachings Of Gurudev Which Is Called Vachana. Makes The Disciples Listen To The Voice Of God. Which He Gradually Increases In The Path Of Sadhana.

  • After This, After Taking Permission From Gurumaharaj, The Disciple Goes To Take Alms. The Increase In Accepting Alms Is Called Gochari. This Is Also Called Madhukari Bhikshacharya, Which Means That The Sages Take Small Amounts Of Pure, Innocent Food From The Houses Of The Planets, Which Is Likened To A Bee. Just As A Bee Takes A Little Nectar From A Flower, In The Same Way A Saint Also Takes Alms, This Is Called Alms-Giving, O Madhukari. A Jain Monk Eats Only Healthy Food. And The Non-Living Thing Takes Proper Water.

  •  After Taking The Gochari, Coming To His Place And Showing The Food To Gurumaharji, If There Are Any Defects In The Gochari, He Repents By Saying 'Yashashvi'. All The Small And Big Sages Worshiped The Food Of God And Then Sat Down To Eat The Food Themselves. The Only Aim Of Taking Food Is Salvation.

  • After Having Food, For Some Time Gurumaharaj Or Other Sage Goes To Serve God Or Meditates On His Own.

  •  2-3 Hours Before Sunset, Transcription Is Done Again, Qaza Etc. Is Also Taken.

  • Then Before Sunset, They Go To The Jinalaya Again, Have Darshan Of The Lord, Perform The Ritual Of Worshiping God And Return To Their Place, And Pay Obeisance To Guru Bhagavan And All The Great Sages.

  •  Again, If During The Day, Knowingly Or Unknowingly, There Is Any Defect In The Mind, Speech And Body, Then Pratikmaman Is Done To Move Back From It.

  •  Again, Self-Study Is Done Through Knowledge, Discussion, Contemplation, Chanting, Meditation Etc. Or By Serving Saints.

  •  Santhara Porsi Or The Ritual Of Sleeping Is Performed In Which One Sacrifices All The Things At Night And Apologizes To All The Living Beings. Even If Someone Dies In The Night, He Will Leave His Body With The Sacrifice Of A Saint.
